One easy way to identify wildflowers is by their flower colour. In fact, Peterson's Field Guide to Wildflowers is organized on this concept. The same groupings are used here. These colour groupings should be regarded as broad categories. For example, the category Blue/Violet includes all shades of blue, from very dark blue to very pale blue.
