The Taipei-based electronics maker oBravo (more accurately Stymax, although as that sounds like a treatment for conjunctivitis in horses, most people run with the oBravo name) has been quietly designing audio products for almost a decade, but it wasn't until it showed the distinctive HAMT-1 headphone that it's name became more well-known beyond.

Hybrid Like their IEMs, the HAMT-1 Signature is a hybrid semi-open headphone featuring a single 57mm dynamic driver and fairly hefty 40mm AMT tweeter. I am presuming there is a single crossover in there somewhere and my guess is around the 7-8k marker based on their IEM tuning and how the AMT tweeter is deployed in there.

i think you mean the obravo eamt-1c (don't know a eam1-c). one of the best earphone i owned beside the final audio lab 2 and the obravo ra c. don't work to well out of the ak380 but really nice with the wm1z and mojo. you may look at my review for some tips:.

The case is made of aluminium, wood and ceramic. The drivers are placed under a ceramic dome that shapes the sound. As described by oBravo, the ceramic dome is for the top analytical model (eamt-1c). An acacia wood dome makes the sound a tad warmer for the warm model (eamt-1w) and the aluminium dome is used for the standard neutral model (eamt-1a).

The two driver types are an 8mm Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter and a 10mm Neodymium Dynamic Driver (NDD). oBravo says the unit is capable of reaching lows of 15Hz and highs of 45kHz. The coaxial drive unit is housed within a Precision-Ceramic hand-crafted body that weighs 35g.

The price is much more reasonable, and I have a little more faith that ESS will bring out more potential out of the AMT drivers, considering they were the pioneers of the technology. Not to say that I think OBravo is incompetent, as their speakers sound decent, but the tuning on the HAMT-1, intentionally colored or not, just isn't very enjoyable.
